Sampath Bank Retired Executives Association holds 17th AGM

The 17th Annual General Meeting of SBREA was held on Sunday, 31 March 2024 at the Sampath Bank Head Office. Over 100 members including spouses were present.

Sampath Bank founder and Managing Director Janaka de Silva graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

The meeting was followed by fellowship, karoke singing and lunch. The event was well organised and it afforded an opportunity for the retirees to meet up and show their camaraderie once again with everybody enjoying the day.

Apart from the regular committee meetings, the following events were organised by the committee during the past year:

Felicitating the outgoing Managing Director Nanda Fernando and welcoming incoming Managing Director Ayodhya Iddawela Perera

Annual family get-together/outing

Meritorious event to invoke merits for the deceased members

Annual General Meeting

Membership of SBREA consists of founder members, life members and ordinary members.

At the inauguration of SBREA in January 2006, the total registered founder members were 17. As at date, the total membership has risen to 200.

The main objectives of SBREA are: to promote fellowship and understanding among the members; to take any action for the benefit and/or well-being of the members; to support the well-being of Sampath Bank; to organise any event to raise funds for the Association and to set up a Death Donation Scheme for the benefit of members of the Association.
