In an effort to lessen the financial struggles that cardholders may face during this uncertain period, SampathCards has implemented a series of measures for all of its valued cardholders as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to bring fresh difficulties.

As settling dues on time will be a significant challenge for cardholders, the payment dates of all credit cards falling from 24 March have been extended until 18 May irrespective of the due dates reflected on the statements. Interest charge on the credit cards will be refunded, if the total statement outstanding of the previous statement is settled in full by 18 May.

In addition, the minimum payment due has been reduced to 2.5% of the statement outstanding, effective from 5 April statement cycle onwards and the bank will also adjust the minimum payment already billed to the statement cycles from 24 March to 4 April. Also, late payment charges will be waived off on all credit cards until 30 September. Furthermore, a reduced interest rate of 15% p.a. (1.25% p.m.) will be applicable for local transactions up to a cumulative value of Rs. 50,000 for the statement cycle commencing from 24 March.

Considering that many cardholders use SampathCards to settle their utility bill payments, a 5% wipe out on utility bill payments made online via partner websites and mobile applications has also been implemented. The bank has extended this offer for online payments made for water, electricity, telephone, mobile, broadband and television, in a bid to assist in the payment of essential services. Furthermore, customers can pay monthly utility bills via Sampath Automated Bill Settlement (SABS). Once registered, this unique service allows customers to live hassle free by paying bills automatically through their SampathCard.

As postal services may be delayed indefinitely, the free eStatement facilities available for all cardholders will allow them to check all transactions made in a month without physical copies. In addition, cardholders can instantly receive their credit card balance and last statement details via SMS by giving a missed call to 0112303090 from their registered mobile number and the Sampath Bank Mobile App is also empowered with several new features to facilitate greater customer experience and convenience.

Sampath Bank continues to offer a 15% cash back on fuel, supermarket and utility bill payments monthly to all Sampath Bank American Express Everyday Credit Cardmembers, even in these challenging times.

SampathCards has long been recognised as the responsible choice for cards in the market. Transcending industry norms to offer an unmatched range of benefits and value-added services, it has certainly shown its commitment towards customers and will continue to aid card holders during these trying times. While other credit cards burden cardholders with as many as 28 charges, SampathCards levy only four charges, allowing for greater savings for the customers. The absence of a fuel surcharge when pumping fuel with Sampath Bank credit cards means that cardholders pay the same amount as they would if they paid in cash, making emergency commutes that much more economical.

All these real value deals, combined with the unmatched service that is synonymous with Sampath Bank, make SampathCards the most responsible choice. Now more than ever, cardholders will be able to reap the maximum rewards of being a Sampath Bank cardholder as the bank remains a pillar of strength, supporting its loyal cardholders by offering unmatched benefits even as Sri Lanka pushes through this unforeseen period.
