JCI Senate Sri Lanka in technical collaboration with Asian pathfinder Legal Consultants and Drafting Services & Corporate Management Consultants will conduct a seminar on 5 October revision to Corporate Governance Rules applicable to entities listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Movenpick Hotel Colombo 3
These rules will come to effect from 1 October.
The discussion at this seminar will be focused on: The Establishment and maintaining Board Policies for Risk Management and Internal Controls; Relations with Shareholders and Investors; Whistleblowing; Corporate Disclosures; Environmental; Social and Governance Sustainability; Anti-Bribery and Corruption; Minimum number of Board members; Segregation of the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; Appointment of a Senior Independent Director in specific instances; Fit and Proper’ Assessment Criteria for directors and CEOs; and Criteria for determining independence of directors and requirements on Alternate Directors.
The keynote address will be delivered by SEC Chairman Faizal Salieh. The main presentation will be made by SEC former Chairman Dr. Dayanath Jayasuriya PC. The panellists will be CSE Chief Regulatory Officer Renuka Wijewardene, CA Sri Lanka Corporate Governance Committee Chairman Asite Talwatte and former SEC Director General Malik Cader.
The program is intended for directors and senior management of listed companies, compliance managers, legal officers, accountants, auditors, company secretaries, stock brokers, entities regulated by the SEC, regulators and investors.
