Seylan Bank receives Special Recognition Award from Wells Fargo Bank

Seylan Bank PLC was accorded a ‘Special Recognition Award’ by its USD correspondent Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., for the year 2018/2019. The accolade was awarded for Seylan Bank’s operational excellence and efficiency in the global payment community consisting of Trade and Remittances.

As per Wells Fargo, Seylan Bank is the only local bank in Sri Lanka to receive this award. This achievement is even more significant as the bank has received the award for the third successive year.

Wells Fargo is the ‘Most Valuable Banking Brand in North America for Retail Banking’ (2017) and ‘Third-Most Valuable Financial Services Brand in the World’ (2017) as recognised by Brand Finance and Forbes, respectively.

It has also been recognised as the Distinguished Provider for USD Global Transaction Services six years in a row, and also the number one bank in ‘Overall Institutional Satisfaction’ among Global Financial Institutions (2018), rated by FImetrix Global Stats. Wells Fargo Bank Vice President – FIG Payment Services, South Asia Rajaraman Subramaniam presented the accolade, which was accepted by Seylan Bank Director/CEO Kapila Ariyaratne at a ceremony held recently.
