Shamindra returns to DFCC Bank as Deputy CEO

DFCC Bank has announced the appointment of Shamindra Marcelline as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer with effect from 15 September 2024.

Shamindra has over 27 years of experience in the banking and financial sector, including multifaceted experience in corporate and global banking, investment banking, retail banking, and credit administration and operations management. He also has experience in product development, advisory, structuring and financing, and credit and operations in addition to expertise in designing and implementing new business initiatives and systems/procedures to enhance the overall efficiency of the organisation in line with corporate business goals.

He served as the Chief Executive Officer/General Manager at People’s Leasing & Finance PLC prior to joining DFCC.

He also held pivotal roles at DFCC Bank as the Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Banking, as well as with HSBC as the Country Manager for Maldives and Head of Financial Institutions Group and Public Sector for HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives.

He holds a BSc in Economics and Accountancy from City University, London, and is a licentiate in Financial Advisors’ International Qualification (FAIQ) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.
