Shiran Cooray joins IIRM Lanka Insurance Brokers (formally known as Finlay’s Insurance Brokers) as General Manager – Technical, to further strengthen the technical capabilities of the IIRM Lanka team.

Having nearly 18 years of experience in the insurance industry working in several leading companies in Sri Lanka and Overseas, he commenced his career in the field of insurance in 2003 with Ceylinco Insurance, as an Engineering and Causality Underwriter. 

In AIA General Insurance as Property and Engineering Underwriter in Corporate Underwriting division and in Union Insurance – Dubai (UAE) he was exposed to the area of Reinsurance, Property and Engineering and was able to broaden his knowledge immensely catering to the UAE market as whole, whist working with leading International Reinsurers.

He joined LOLC General Insurance Ltd. with the focus in setting up the operations for Non-Motor Classes of business in the General Insurance segment as the Head of Non-Motor Underwriting and Reinsurance. He has majored in reinsurance, property, engineering, casualty and financial lines of business which are falling under the General insurance 

segment.
