Softlogic Finance appoints Viresh Nanayakkara to Board

Softlogic Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Viresh Nanayakkara as an Independent, Non-Executive Director on its Board.

Nanayakkara is an accomplished legal professional with a diverse background and extensive experience in criminal law. Graduating as an Attorney at Law in 2014, he embarked on a journey of continuous learning and specialisation. His pursuit led him to obtain a certificate in Shipping Law and Practice from the Institute for Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP) and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

In 2016, Nanayakkara joined the Attorney General’s Department, where he honed his skills by conducting prosecutions in various High Courts across Sri Lanka. This tenure provided him with invaluable experience and deepened his understanding of criminal law.

Expanding his horizons internationally, Nanayakkara ventured to South Korea to participate in the Fellowship Program on Forensic Science for Prosecutors, organised by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the National Forensic Service (NFS).

This experience broadened his perspective and enriched his expertise in forensic science.

Furthering his academic pursuits, Nanayakkara obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Colombo, solidifying his foundation in legal scholarship.

After seven years of dedicated service in the Attorney General’s Department, Nanayakkara transitioned into private practice, specialising in criminal law. He also now focuses on handling writ matters in the apex courts, leveraging his wealth of experience and expertise to provide exceptional legal representation to his clients. With a reputation for excellence and a passion for justice, Nanayakkara continues to make significant contributions to the legal profession in Sri Lanka.

Separately, Softlogic Finance also announced the retirement of Dinesh P. Renganathan as Chairman and appointed H. S. S. Dabre as Acting Chairman.

With the latest changes the Board of Directors of Softlogic Finance PLC comprises Acting Chairman H. S. S. Dabare, R. J. Perera, H. K. Kaimal, C. Kalupahana, and V. B. Nanayakkara.
