Sri Lanka’s number one health insurance company, Softlogic Life, celebrated achievements of their top sales performers at their annual Life Sales Convention recently, held at the BMICH on 27 March. The gala celebration – organised under the theme of ‘Living Life with Pride’ – hosted the highest achievers of the company for the year 2017.
The exuberant evening included the presence of Softlogic Life Deputy Chairman Paul Ratnayeke, Board Directors Sujeewa Rajapakse, Ray Abeywardena, Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed, members of the senior management and other distinguished guests. A total number of 291 awards were distributed among winners, further encouraging Softlogic Life’s sales team members to constantly deliver outstanding performance and exceptional service to their clientele.
Building on the strong momentum gathered over 2016, Softlogic Life cherished a strong growth in profit and revenue by concluding an excellent 2017 on a buoyant spirit. The company posted a 34% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth with an increase in Gross Written Premiums (GWP) up to Rs. 7.53 billion. Their impressive top-line performance generated strong returns for the company, with Profit before Tax rising by 97% YoY to Rs. 1.9 billion, while Profit After Tax (PAT) more than doubling up to Rs. 2.32 billion, reflecting a growth of 140% YoY. The company’s outstanding performance over the year was further reflected in its Earnings per share, which posted a sharp increase from Rs. 2.34 up to Rs. 6.20 per share.

Our world-class life insurance solutions and service ethics have revolutionised the industry and these solutions emphasise the importance of enhancing the quality of life of our policyholders, offering them more opportunities to choose the kind of life they want to live,” Softlogic Life Insurance Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed expressed to the audience.
“We are delighted to end a fantastic 2017 by celebrating our achievements—including the esteemed Gold award in the Overall Insurance Sector at the National Business Excellence Awards – and recognising our best performers who constantly raise the bars of excellence,” Ahamed said further.
