Sujeewa follows Bartleet founder Mallory, Chairman Eraj in serving CSE Board

Bartleet Religare Securities CEO/Director Sujeewa Peries 


Bartleet Group has announced the appointment of Sujeewa Peries to the Board of Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). Sujeewa currently serves as the CEO/Director of Bartleet Religare Securities Ltd., a subsidiary company of Bartleet Group.

Sujeewa accounts for over 30 years of experience and is one of the most senior and competent professionals in the capital market industry of Sri Lanka. Sujeewa becomes the third from Bartleet Group to be appointed to the board of Colombo Stock Exchange. Bartleet, being one of the pioneering members of the CSE, has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Colombo Stock Exchange. The late Chairman of Bartleet Group, Mallory Wijesinghe was the founder Chairman of CSE whilst the present Chairman of Bartleet Group Eraj Wijesinghe served as the Chairman of CSE during the period 2003 to 2005. 

Sujeewa joined Bartleet in 1990 and has played a significant role in the growth and development of Bartleet Religare Securities (BRS) formerly known as Bartleet Mallory Stockbrokers. Having started his career in stockbroking as a Documentation Officer and thereafter moving on to become an Investment Advisor, Sujeewa has been successful in building up a strong network of investors spread across Domestic Institutions, High Networth Individuals and Retail Investors. He was promoted to Manager Sales in 2001 and for his immense contribution to Bartleet Mallory Stockbrokers, Sujeewa was appointed as a Director in 2008. 

Under his leadership and guidance, Bartleet Religare Securities built a very strong investment advisory team spread across key strategic/commercial districts of the country. Currently, the company accounts for one of the largest depository bases in the capital market industry accounting for more than 82,000 CDS accounts. 

Sujeewa, was appointed as CEO/Director in 2020 and since then has been instrumental in providing a strong leadership to team Bartleet Religare Securities to be among the top 3 brokerages in the capital market industry of Sri Lanka.
