With Sri Lanka placed on FATF’s list of jurisdictions that are non-compliant and now blacklisted by the EU, designated financial businesses and non-financial businesses including real estate agents, casino operators, gem merchants, lawyers, etc. have to demonstrate that serious attempts are being made to conduct proper due diligence on every customer and enhanced due diligence on politically-exposed persons, etc.

Through case studies the participants will learn how to conduct sensitive CDD and ECDD and the pitfalls to be aware of.

A workshop will be conducted on 27 March at Movenpick Hotel from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. by Dr. Dayanath Jayasuriya P.C. the author of several publications on anti-money laundering and the combatting of terrorist financing who has trained compliance officers in more than 20 countries.

A panel discussion will follow the main presentation.

As case studies to be considered will be provided in advance to registered participants, early registration is advised. Contact Lara +94 (77) 071 5595/James 0714725234 for registrations.
