The 12th Annual Life Sales Convention of Asian Alliance Insurance – ‘Quality Awards 2013’ – was concluded recently at Waters Edge, Battaramulla on a high note.
As per the tradition of Asian Alliance Life this glamorous forum recognises the untiring efforts and superior skills of the Asian Alliance sales team year over year which has led the organisation to proudly be at the unmatched position where the company stands today. This year’s celebrations were themed ‘The Winners Circle’.
AAI’s Chairman Ashok Pathirage, Deputy Chairman Paul Ratnayeke, Executive Director Iftikar Ahamed and Director/CEO Ramal Jasinghe attended the occasion whilst the Executive Committee members and senior management were present to applause the true spirit of their professional sales force.
Launching the awards ceremony with his special message, Chula Hettiarachchi, Chief Operating Officer – Life, enlightened the audience on the journey of AAI Life who has bravely surpassed the giants that dominated the industry for decades within just 12 years. He also positioned the theme of this year’s event ‘The Winners Circle’ with the audience. Hettiarachchi commended the untiring efforts of the best sales force in the industry that has defeated all challenges set for them to reach the pinnacle of success.
Whilst congratulating the winners, Ramal Jasinghe, Director/CEO, stated that the company was surging forward as a member of the diversified Softlogic Group which would result in new dimensions to the insurance solutions provided by AAI to its clientele.
Executive Director Iftikar Ahamed commended the achievements of the sales force and enlightened the team on the new proposition of the company which is blended with the multinational expertise with the entrance of the two eminent foreign investors, DEG - Deutsche Investitions- Und Entwicklungsgesellschaft MBH of Germany and FMO - Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij Voor Ontwikkelingslanden N.V. of Netherlands.
Chairman Ashok Pathirage explained the strategy which led the Softlogic Group to enter into the insurance industry. Pathirage commended the performance of the energetic team of professionals whilst encouraging them to go beyond the traditional frameworks and introduce new benchmarks to the industry for others to follow.
The performance of each and every individual in the sales team was perfectly measured on three key elements, namely, quantity, quality and consistency, endorsing the continuously improving productivity standards of Asian Alliance Life and the soundness of AAI’s unique selling process that clearly differentiates the team from the rest of the industry. It was noted that despite of raising the winning criteria for each category of awards the number of winners were increasing year on year demonstrating the true salesmanship of the AAI Life team.
G. M. Lahiru Maduranga from Nugegoda Regional Distribution Office was awarded the Best Performer of the Year as well as the Most Valuable Sales Person of the Year Awards.
Senior Regional Distribution Manager – Kiribathgoda Lalith Subasinghe was awarded Best Regional Distribution Manager while Arjuna Herath (Senior Zonal Manager – Kegalle) and Soma Hettiarachchi (Provincial Sales Manager – Kottawa) together with Upul Jayasekera (Regional Distribution Manager – Nugegoda) claimed the 1st and 2nd runner up awards respectively.
Mahesh Ravindra was awarded as the Best Field Manager of the Year whilst E.J.C. Ariyasinghe claimed the runner up award. Susil Atapattu (Colombo II) was awarded the Best Territorial Manager Award and Nishantha Jayaweerage (Wattala) won the runner up award.
