Abans Finance opens for biz in Kandy

Abans Finance Plc recently expanded its business to the hill country by opening a fully fledged branch at the Kandy City Centre.

Alternate to the Chairperson Rusi Pestonjee, Kandy City Centre Chairman Thusitha Wijesena graced the occasion as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively. 

Abans Finance Executive Director Kithsiri Wanigasekara, General Manager M.K. Nambiyarooran and Head of Branches Chaminda Sugathadasa were also in attendance with other members of the management and staff.  The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished members of the public and leading business personalities.  

Wanigasekara in his address to the gathering highlighted that Abans Finance is now well positioned in Kandy to exploit opportunities in building businesses for the company.  He emphasised that mobilisation of deposits from the public is a priority on the agenda of the company with the conveniences that are available in this location.   He further stated that almost 20% of the company’s business operations are conducted from the Kandy base that includes the KCC branch and the Service Centre at D.S. Senanayaka Vidiya, Kandy. He stressed that the Central Province is crucial to the growth in businesses of Abans Finance owing to the fact that the company already enjoys a significant share in the market in this area.

Sugathadasa commented that this is the tenth branch/service centre that is operated by the company. He mentioned that prospects were bright for the company in this competitive environment where the company has identified appropriate measures to penetrate markets in the provinces.The Board of Directors of the company comprises : Aban Pestonjee (Chairperson), Rusi Pestonjee (Alternate to the Chairperson), Mano Alles (Managing Director),  Kithsiri Wanigasekara (Executive Director),  Saroshi Dubash, Channa Pathirana, S.
