ACCA Global President visits BDO Sri Lanka

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Global President Brian McEnery who is also a partner at BDO Ireland paid a courtesy call to BDO Sri Lanka. He visited Sri Lanka to attend the New Members Ceremony organised by ACCA Sri Lanka. 

Brian was accompanied by ACCA Member Network Panel Chairman Adrian Perera, ACCA Head Nilusha Ranasinghe, and ACCA Business Development Manager Ruchera Jayawardena. They were received by Partner BDO Head of Audit and Assurance Tishan Subasinghe. 

Brian discussed with the Partners and Directors of BDO Sri Lanka about BDO’s role towards ACCA Students in Sri Lanka. Brain highlighted that ACCA professionals require training and development to grow and prosper. He stated, “Being a member of a professional body like ACCA means that the skills and knowledge are updated to meet the challenges faced by organisations.” 

As a response to this Tishan explained that, “BDO as a service oriented firm takes the responsibility of looking after the future generations and leaders of this country by providing a formalised internship program for ACCA students.” Furthermore he explained that BDO ensures that the students maintain a work life balance. BDO as one of the leading accounting networks in the globally arena, strives to uplift the quality of young accounting professionals to become talented working professionals in the industry. Brain was happy to note that both BDO and ACCA have entered into an understanding to provide practical training experience to ACCA students.
