Amana Bank expands to North Central Province

Amana Bank opened its latest branch at Kaduruwela on 27 March 2013, offering its unique financial services and solutions to the people of Kaduruwela. The commitment to continuously expand Amana Bank’s branch network across many cities and towns is reiterated with the opening of the bank’s 19th branch.

The branch, which is located at 379, Main Street, Kaduruwela, is Amana Bank’s first in the North Central Province. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Premasiri Munasinghe, Chairman of the Thamankaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha, Ven. Kaduruwela Dharmapala Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Kaduruwela Jayanthi Piriven Viharaya, the bank’s Managing Director/CEO Faizal Salieh, Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Azmeer, Vice President – Branch Operations and Business Support M.M.S. Quvylidh, members of the bank’s corporate management, customers and other invitees.  Addressing the gathering at the opening ceremony, the bank’s Managing Director/CEO Faizal Salieh said: “Kaduruwela is a cosmopolitan town and an important commercial hub which in recent times has witnessed rapid economic development. With our entry in to Kaduruwela, we are looking forward to establish a firm footprint in the North Central Province and serve the local business community with our unique financial model based on the principles of equity, fairness and justice. Through our business model we shall develop healthy long term partnerships especially with the small and medium scale entrepreneurs and other consumers in the area.” Munasinghe in his speech said: “I wish Amana Bank, with its non-interest based model of banking, will grow in strength and prosperity in providing a productive service to our children and public of this locality.”  Sharing his sentiments, the Ven. Kaduruwela Dharmapala Thero said: “Amana Bank’s operational characteristics of equity and fairness will be welcomed by all communities. I am also optimistic that Amana Bank will uplift this agriculture based society through the characteristics of trustworthiness, efficiency and honesty which are integral to its model of banking.” The bank’s Kaduruwela branch will offer a full range of financial products and services which include current accounts, savings accounts, resident foreign currency (RFC) accounts, non resident foreign currency (NRFC) accounts, children’s savings accounts, term investment accounts, housing finance, leasing facilities, safety lockers facilities, SME banking, corporate banking, trade services, Treasury services and several other new products. Kaduruwela is the 5th branch to open in the past three months in addition to the bank’s new branches in Dehiwala, Nintavur, Kuliyapitiya and Eravur. The bank has aggressive plans to expand its reach this year and introduce new products and services to offer greater convenience to its customers.
