Addressing those present at the branch opening, the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Azmeer said: “We are delighted to mark our much awaited presence in Kirulapone. The branch also offers an exclusive ladies unit, providing greater privacy and comfort for women to conduct their banking activities. With a strategic focus towards the Retail and SME sector, we strongly believe that our unique products and services cater to the varying needs of our diverse customers.”

The Kirulapone branch also offers the bank’s award-winning Gold Certificate Financing Facility, which was introduced as an alternative for conventional pawning. Amãna Bank Plc is the first licensed commercial bank in Sri Lanka to operate in complete harmony with the non-interest-based Islamic banking model. Fitch Ratings, in October 2016, affirmed the bank’s National Long-term Rating of BB (lka) with a Stable Outlook.
