Amana Bank relocates branch in Sammanthurai

Amana Bank recently relocated its Sammanthurai Branch to a spacious office premises at Hajiar Palace, Hijra Junction, Ampara Road, Sammanthurai, providing convenient and easy access to their customers. The new location was declared open by the Vice Chancellor, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka M.S. Ismail along with the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Azmeer, senior management members, invitees and customers. The branch has been in operation in Sammanthurai since February 2006 and has established itself as a prominent financial service provider in the area supporting many individual consumers and small and medium business entities. Commenting on this occasion the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Azmeer said: “Sammanthurai has been strategic and important location for Amana Bank within the Eastern Province. The contribution of the farmers and SMEs from Sammanthurai towards the economy is noteworthy and the individuals’ support towards the branch has been praiseworthy.” Powered by the stability and the support of its strategic shareholders Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, the Islamic Development Bank based in Saudi Arabia and AB Bank in Bangladesh, the bank is making an aggressive journey in the Sri Lankan banking industry and is focused on capitalising the growing market potential for this unique banking model across the country.
