Amãna Takaful rewards champions of 2014

GeneralTakaful Award Winners   Amãna Takaful (ATL) recently held its annual awards under the theme ‘Think Big’. At the gala event, the company’s top employees were recognised for their exceptional performance, in the presence of Chief Guest Amãna Takaful Plc Executive Director Ehsan Zaheed, Amãna Takaful’s Board of Directors, key customers, business partners and staff. The annual awards ceremony acknowledges the achievements of employees who have excelled in the areas of sales and operations, and it is one of the most highly anticipated events in the company’s corporate calendar. Commenting on the event, Zaheed stated: “Despite facing several challenges, Amãna Takaful has delivered exceptional results in 2014, primarily due to the hard work and perseverance of our employees. I would like to congratulate the entire Amãna Takaful team for contributing to the company’s growth and for creating a greater acceptance of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka. “In 2015, Amãna Takaful separated its Life and General insurance businesses and is now poised to experience a new era of growth and prosperity. I believe that in the year ahead, all Amãna Takaful employees will continue to reach for new levels of success.” Commending the Amãna Takaful team, ATL Insurance CEO Fazal Ghaffoor stated: “At Amãna Takaful we believe that our success is due to our people and their efforts. If it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of our employees, we would not be where we are today. We invest in our people and develop them, so they in turn can reach their full potential and enable the company to do the same. Last year ATL opened the state-of-the-art Takaful Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) centre. TASK was initiated by Amãna Takaful to help develop the company’s staff and expand their current knowledge and skill set. Our financial results for the first nine months of 2014 were posted in the context of a very challenging business environment and relatively high claims during the latter part of the second quarter. However, 2015 is a year of change for ATL and we will rise up stronger than ever.” Family Takaful Award Winners He added: “With the segregation of Life and General insurance, Amãna Takaful Life will be a fully-owned subsidiary of Amãna Takaful Plc. The transfer will not affect any of the obligations and responsibilities under the policy conditions and we will continuously strive to deliver the pristine purity of Takaful as promised. The separation of the Life and General segments will also open the doors to many new opportunities. Today, we celebrate the achievements of our top performers, who have excelled in their roles and contributed significantly to the company’s success. We would also like to ask the entire team to ‘think big’ and strive to achieve even greater results in 2015.” The most coveted award of the day, the Best Sales Person of the Year, aptly named the Champion of Champions, was awarded to Shakir Mohomed, Regional Manager –Western Region, Amãna Takaful Life Ltd. for his exemplary performance in 2014. CEO Award Winners Speaking about his achievement, Mohomed stated: “It is a great honour to receive the highly coveted Champion of Champions award at this year’s annual awards. I would like to thank the management team of Amãna Takaful for its ongoing commitment and support, which has played a crucial role in helping us reach our goals and achieve success in both our personal and professional lives.” The CEO’s Award was presented to Hisham Nimal (Amãna Takaful, Maldives) while Yudheesha Fernando, Rizmi Junaideen, Mohamed Rifaz, B.R.M Raqeeb, M.H. Fahad, S.H.M Shabeen, Arshad Assudeen and Moulavi Aslam while S.L. Suhail, U.G Ajith Ariyapala, M. Faizal Azeem, D.P. Kapurubandara, M.H.A Hashmath, M. Fayaz Haniff, A.A. Ajfar, M. Shafraz Farook, L.G.K.M. Lankage, Shakir Mohammed (Amãna Takaful, Maldives) and Shafraz Nilan (Amãna Takaful, Global) received their 10-year service awards. 10 Year Service Award Winners The Pettah branch received the award for Overall Best Branch in the Life category and in the General category the Dehiwala branch received the Best Branch award. The Western Region was adjudged the Best Region in both the Life and General categories. Amãna Takaful has been recognised for its innovation and quality of service for over 15 years and caters to a vast variety of customers. In order to remain ‘open to all’, Amãna Takaful serves all segments of customers and engages a 350-strong team across its network of 27 branches. The company was recently upgraded by the Lanka Rating Agency to a rating of BBB/P3/Stable and recently achieved ISO 9001:2008 re-certification.
