Anura Siriwardena appointed to Aviva NDB Insurance Board

Secretary to the Secretary to the Ministry of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development has been appointed to the Board of Aviva NDB Insurance Plc with effect from 8 February 2012.

Siriwardena already serves on the Board of NDB Bank Plc., on to which he was appointed in June 2010.

He has been appointed to Aviva NDB Board in place of NDB Chief Operating Officer (Business) Indrajit Wickramasinghe.

The Company has sought prior approval from the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka for the appointment of Siriwardena.

Siriwardena holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from University of Kelaniya, and MBA from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. He is a Member of numerous bodies, including the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, the Sri Lanka Institute of Biology and the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Sciences. Siriwardena was the past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Television Network Limited and the Secretary to the Ministry of Corperatives and Internal Trade.

With the new addition, the Aviva NDB Insurance Board will comprise T.R. Ramachandran (Chairman), Shah Rouf (Managing Director), Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, David Hope, Nishit Majmudar, Russell De Mel, Sarath Wikramanayake, Lal de Mel and Anura Siriwardena.
