APB organises post budget seminar for bankers

The Association of Professional Bankers (APB), the premier professional body of bankers in the country organised yet another evening session on the proposed Budget for 2015 and its impact on the economy in general and the banking industry in particular. The evening session was held on 5 November 2014 at the HNB Head Office Auditorium. Three eminent speakers specialised in different professions made presentations followed by a Q&A session. Amal Sanderatne, CEO/Director, Frontier Research Ltd spoke about the impact of the budget proposals on macro economic fundamentals of the economy. Sujeewa Mudalige, Partner PWC and Past President of ICASL gave an account of tax implications and elaborated how they affect to banking. Sunil De Silva, Senior Deputy General Manager, Seylan Bank focused more on proposals that has an influence on banking activities. Presentations were well received by the audience mainly comprising bankers. Three presentations were followed by a Q&A session hosted by APB President Piyal Hennayake.
