The newest addition to the Asian Alliance Insurance (AAI), Regional Distribution Network was ceremoniously opened on 12 May 2011. Situated in 396/1/1, Negombo Road, Wattala, this latest addition will function as a Divisional Office taking the number of branch offices up to 23.
Mohammad Naushad, Mayor of Wattala graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. AAI Director and CEO Ramal Jasinghe, the Executive Committee members and Senior Management of AAI were present at this ceremony; opening of another outstanding office that is geared to further strengthen the distribution arm of the Company.
Mihilal Nishantha, Zonal Manager - Negombo commenced the ceremonial opening with his welcome note. Chula Hettiarachchi, General Manager – Sales & Marketing shared the strategy outlining this milestone, which is in fact aligned to the expansion of the Company amidst the prevailing competitive landscape in the industry. Further, he elaborated the evolutionary journey of AAI from a new entrant to the industry to the most profitable insurance company in the industry within a span of 10 years.
Hettiarachchi stated that, “we are confident that AAI will double the profitability of the company in the next decade”. He also shared the strategies of company’s expansion plan designed to provide protection from various risks to the target market island wide by increasing the branch network to 30 during 2011. “Maintaining high standards of professionalism whilst abiding by the Company’s value system is critical in our journey of progress” said Hettiarachchi, concluding his address.
In his speech, Mayor of Wattala Mohammad Naushad welcomed AAI to the city, which is a financial hub of the country and expressed his views on the importance of the private sector contribution towards the development of country’s economy.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new branch Ramal Jasinghe, Director/CEO emphasised that the branch management has a greater responsibility towards providing protection to the residents of Wattala which is a melting pot representing a cross section of the economy.
“I’m confident that we have the strength to progress as the most profitable player in the industry whilst abiding by the regulatory requirements as per the recent amendments to the Insurance Industry act; we are on the correct direction to achieve the objectives set for ourselves,” stated Jasinghe.
The newest branch in Wattala is geared to service both Life and Non Life businesses, using its successful formula of “professionalism.” AAI has resourced this unit with experienced staff and state of the art ICT offering scientific and tailor made insurance solutions to the residents in Wattala.
