Following are excerpts of an interview conducted with Assetline Leasing CEO Ananda Seneviratne and General Manager Ajantha Premasiri regarding measures taken by Assetline Leasing to support their customers:

Q: Can you tell us about Assetline’s journey in the leasing industry?

A:
Assetline Leasing has always striven to improve the convenience and goodwill of its customers, while providing them with an excellent service over a period of 12 years. As a result, the company has established itself as a reliable leasing provider in the industry, with a fast and efficient service. Our customer base represents a wide cross-section of the country and we have an island-wide network that helps us identify their needs and provide the necessary financial support and advice, using simple documentation.

Q: What are the services offered by Assetline to its customers?

A:
In addition to providing leasing facilities to fulfill the basic requirements of individuals, we offer financial support to businesses and enterprises. Apart from leasing facilities available for vehicles, customers can obtain leasing facilities for their entrepreneurial activities, to purchase required machinery and equipment for industries such as agriculture and carpentry, and financial support for dairy farmers.

We are always ready to provide financial assistance to customers who need to import vehicles, vehicle spare parts, machinery and other items. We have also enabled our customers the opportunity to quickly receive cash in an emergency by releasing their registered three-wheelers at Assetline.

Q: What distinguishes Assetline in the industry?

A:
Over the years, Assetline has made a significant contribution towards innovating the Sri Lankan leasing industry. Any person who can productively contribute to the country’s economy can obtain leasing facilities from us. Our clientele includes permanent and freelance employees, small and medium scale businessmen, entrepreneurs, construction workers, those engaged in agricultural activities as well as individuals who cannot confirm their permanent income.

Regardless of whether or not they can confirm their earnings through documentation, customers can receive leasing facilities, provided that they generate an income. Customers are also granted leasing facilities for motorcycles including scooters on monthly premiums.

If you are hoping to get a leasing facility, you must pay particular attention to the after-sales service provided by the company. Assetline customers receive the added benefit of ease of access through its island-wide branch network which enables customers to pay their monthly premiums at their convenience. There are 48 branches at which they can pay their monthly rentals while there are 67 authorised collecting centres appointed to collect the rentals. In addition, customers can make payments through any People’s Bank or Sampath Bank branch or through the Sampath Universe online banking service.

Moreover, we have extended our service by introducing the Easy Pay Machine so that customers can make their payments at any time. At Assetline, customers can obtain financial support, vehicle leasing and insurance all under one roof.

Q: What are the new services that you will introduce to the customers in 2016?

A:
Assetline has introduced several new personal loan schemes for the year 2016. Moving beyond leasing, we provide education loans to students with financial difficulties so that they can realise their dream of higher education, wedding loans, capital investment loans and other services tailored specifically to our customers’ requirements.

Q: Under the new budget, the tax for vehicles has increased, and there is also the 30% initial payment law to consider. What kind of relief can the customer expect at Assetline in these circumstances?

A:
Under the new budget the tax for vehicles has gone up with some exceptions. Taking this into consideration, we have introduced numerous benefits to our customers. One such measure is the introduction of an affordable monthly premium. We offer a period of 48 months for repayment of a loan for motorcycles and 72 months for three-wheelers. With the objective of providing maximum benefits to our customers, we have also extended the grace period for repayment of this facility. We invite you to join Assetline to fulfil all your financial and other requirements. May 2016 prove to be a prosperous one for all of you!
