Aviva NDB promotes firecracker safety through dance

In a unique endeavour to motivate young families, particularly children to light firecrackers with care when celebrating Christmas and New Year festivities, Aviva NDB Insurance conducted an eye-catching activation at several public locations, just before the year-end holidays.  

The activation took the form of a troupe of dancers who performed a ‘fireworks street dance’ sequence to highlight the danger of lighting firecrackers without adequate care.  Safety leaflets were also distributed.   

Activations were held at the busiest areas in Colombo including the Fort Railway Station thronging with people heading home for the holidays and at the BMICH where a seasonal fair was in progress. “Our communications on lighting firecrackers safely during celebrations have significantly helped to reduce the number of injuries,” said Aviva NDB Insurance General Manager, Marketing and Customer Management Amal Perera.
