Bank of Ceylon Pettah branch 70th anniversary commemorated

The commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Pettah Branch of Bank of Ceylon and the celebration of seven decades of service honouring their account holders was ceremonially held at the Grand Ballroom of the Water’s Edge Hotel on 24 August 2013. This celebration was presided over by the Bank of Ceylon Chairman Razick Zarook and graced by the attendance of many account holders of the branch.
The staff of the bank’s Pettah branch has at present, as in the past, identified the needs of account holders and extended a highly efficient service to them making this branch one of the most active in a trade centre catering to a wide and varied gamut of importers and exporters and wholesale and retail traders.
At this occasion the present Assistant General Manager of the Pettah Branch said: “Our staff have acted as a unified team in serving efficiently and successfully, identifying the needs of our account holders during the past seven decades taking us towards the achievements of targets. The secret of our success is the trustworthy service we have offered to our account holders right from the past.
“Our busy account holders are very mindful of the fact that we have all facilities such as the International Division which surpasses ordinary local banking, leasing, legal and insurance divisions all under one roof leading to a speedy and extremely efficient service. Behind all these lie the mighty hands of our highly efficient staff.”
In a similar manner Bank of Ceylon Chairman and President’s Counsel Razick Zarook addressing the distinguished gathering praised their valuable account holders for the success of the branch. Commenting on the arrangements made to honour account holders with mementoes he stated that these particular memento awards was for very special people from one of Sri Lanka’s very special bank.
The account holders of the Pettah Branch treat it as one of their traditional heritage. He further stated that these mementoes would stand as valuable milestones to the next generation of account holders. Finally he commented that the success of Pettah Branch of Bank of Ceylon was chiefly because of the yeoman service accorded by the efficient dedicated and committed staff.
