HSBC Sri Lanka has launched its first HSBCnet mobile application on 26 June 2015 for its corporate customers, enabling direct access to HSBCnet services and more user-friendly interface via iphone or android based smart phones at no additional cost.

The enhanced platform offers faster and easier user experience than logging in via the mobile. It provides direct access to customer’s entitled accounts and services from the smartphone home screen and allows easier control at the fingertips with a mobile-friendly interface, anytime and anywhere.

The new application provides a platform for customers to perform a number of major functions with HSBCnet Mobile app in the same way as using the service from the desktop: View account balances and statements; Create payment instructions for existing beneficiaries; Authorise payment instructions and Receive notification of payments ready for authorisation.

HSBC Sri Lanka Head of Corporate Banking Chamira Wijetilleke said: “We are happy to be a part of the regional launch of HSBCnet mobile app that benefits our customers. Mobile payments can improve the financial health of a business. Being paid faster improves a company’s liquidity and cash-flow. Improving cash-flow enables opportunities to improve credit profiles, improve credit terms and elevate a company’s reputation, all of which enable faster growth.”

Innovation in consumer technologies and personal banking is increasingly driving change in professional behaviour. Beyond the convenience of being able to check account balances, authorise payments and receive payment alerts on the go, mobile banking has the potential to introduce entirely new ways of doing business and generate vast quantities of valuable information about a company’s operations that were previously unattainable.  Globally, 12% of HSBCnet customers are active HSBCnet Mobile users. HSBC Sri Lanka is amongst 11 other countries in the Asia Pacific region to launch the HSBCnet mobile app.

Customers in Sri Lanka can now start to experience the HSBCnet Mobile app on their iPhone or Android based smartphones by following three simple steps: Download app: Search “HSBCnet” in the Apple App Store or Google Play store, depending on the smartphone used. Download and install the HSBCnet Mobile app on the smartphone; Use existing credentials: Use the existing HSBCnet user ID and security device to log on to HSBCnet Mobile via the app and Access HSBCnet Mobile services through the menu on the home page.
