BOC triumphant at National Quality Circle Awards 2010

Bank of Ceylon’s road to certification as an ISO 9001-2008 commenced in the Trade Services Division of the Corporate Branch. As a forerunner to this achievement, a primary and supportive requirement was the implementation of the 5S system and Quality Circles.

Ten Quality Circles were formed internally, of which two emerged as frontrunners in the Quality Certification Award. In implementing the systems, the guidance and assistance of former Director Upali Marasinghe, Directress Thilaka Jayasundara, Deputy Director Suranga Gunarathna and Productivity Development Officer Nilmini Somarathna of the National Productivity Secretariat were greatly appreciated.
