CA Sri Lanka, CISI focus on mutual funds as new frontier of investments

Two leading professional bodies came together recently to take a closer look at Sri Lanka’s booming capital market.
At an evening seminar organised recently by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) together with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) the topic of mutual funds, identified as the new frontier of investments for Sri Lanka was given much needed attention by a pool of well-versed experts who boosted the interactive session by sharing their insights to a houseful audience from the accounting, banking and financial sectors.
The seminar saw some insightful presentations by four resource persons including Deutsche Bank Colombo Director and Head of Global Transaction Banking Division Tyrone Hannan, NDB Wealth Management CEO Prabodha Samarasekera, Colombo Stock Exchange Chief Operating Officer Renuke Wijayawardhane and Unit Trust Association of Sri Lanka President P. Asokan
The session was moderated by Brian Selvanayagam, Country Manager, Sri Lanka of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
