CA Sri Lanka, SEC to educate directors on accessing capital markets, banking, finance equity and deb

The Corporate Directors Program jointly conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and the Securities and Exchange Commission will this week focus on identifying the various ways and means of accessing capital markets, raising capital through debt and equity, business and share valuations.
The session which will be held on Thursday 31 August will feature Vajira Kulatilaka, Chief Executive officer of NDB Capital Holdings PLC will teach participants on the importance of contribution to value creation, mergers acquisitions and joint ventures, and short and long term implications of corporate borrowing on cash flow management.
The panellists for the sixth session will be Arjuna Herath, President of CA Sri Lanka and Partner / Head of Advisory Services of Ernst & Young, Sri Lanka and Maldives, and Mr. Steven Enderby, Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer of Hemas Holdings PLC.
Meanwhile the fifth session featuring Renuka Wijayawardhane, Chief Operating Officer of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) focused on the CSE regulations for listing, admission to the official list, initial listing application, prospectus and its content and continuing listing requirements and delisting of entities.
The panellists during the fifth session were Priyanthi Peiris, Attorney at law and Chairperson of P W Corporate Secretarial Ltd. and Director of Abans Electricals PLC, Asia Asset Finance PLC and Lanka Orix Finance PLC and Rey Abeygunawardena, Managing Director – Acuity Partners.
