CA Sri Lanka Students Society and CSE to educate students on the importance of investments

The importance of investing early and saving for the future will be the highlight at a seminar organised by the Students Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) scheduled to be held on Monday, 24 February 2014. The seminar titled ‘Step into the world of investments’ will educate future chartered accountants on the importance of investments, how to invest, while special attention will also be drawn towards ironing out any misconceptions relating to investments. The seminar which will be held at CA Sri Lanka, Colombo 7, will also give students a rare opportunity to open a CDS (Central Depository Systems) account at the conclusion of the seminar, at the seminar venue itself. The seminar will cover a multitude of areas including the growing trends, and future opportunities in investments, how to invest in the stock market and how to engage in subsequent transactions, the benefits and importance of investing in shares in comparison to other forms of investments and, why it is important to invest in shares. This is the first time both the CA students’ society and the CSE has teamed up to organise a seminar focusing on this important and relevant topic.
