CA Sri Lanka to focus on emerging issues facing finance companies

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will pay special focus on emerging issues facing finance companies at a special workshop scheduled to be held on 22 May 2013 at the Institute’s Auditorium in Colombo 7.

The workshop will focus in detail on numerous business risks, accounting and auditing issues facing finance and leasing companies both at a local as well as global level.

The workshop targeted at finance professionals, auditors and internal auditors will be further infused by an expert team of presenters who will delve in detail on emerging issues while also imparting important knowledge to professionals on how to mitigate such risks.

The workshop will be conducted over four sessions, with the inaugural session covering ‘Key products and services offered by finance and or leasing companies and their related risks’ which will be presented by LOLC Finance Manager/Compliance Officer Imraz Iqbal, while the second session will focus on ‘Regulatory aspects of finance and leasing companies’ which will be presented by CBSL Senior Assistant Director Chanoori Jayasinghe.

The third session will be conducted by Ernst & Young Partner Manil Jayesinghe who will provide a detailed overview on ‘Risk mitigation strategies and risk based auditing of financial products and services.’ The fourth and final session will be by KPMG Director Uditha De Soyza on the ‘Implications of IFRS implementation for finance and leasing companies.’
