Cargills Food City powers ‘Ransalu Pranama’ Privilege Card

  • To extend benefits to 350,000 strong workforce of Apparel Sector
Cargills Food City is powering the ‘Ransalu Pranama’ Privilege Card as its ‘Lead Merchant’ in tribute to the employees of the Apparel Sector who make a substantial contribution towards Sri Lanka’s economic growth. Through this initiative more than 350,000 employees from the sector and their families would be enjoying a range of benefits and discounts throughout the year from some of the most popular consumer brands in the Country. The ‘Ransalu Pranama’ program would be launched shortly across Sri Lanka covering all 285 apparel production facilities located in 25 districts. Cargills Food City has come forward as the Lead Merchant for the program offering a price advantage of 5-10% across all products on their shelves at any outlet island wide. Cargills Foods Company Deputy General Manager – Marketing Sanjeewa Fernando noted that Cargills is delighted to partner this initiative as a tribute to this vital force that drives Sri Lanka’s economic prosperity. “As a country and as Sri Lanka’s leading Retail and Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company we are proud of our Apparel Industry work force. Their contribution towards Sri Lanka’s economic prosperity and global recognition is invaluable. We are privileged to support this effort to enhance their quality of life and we look forward to taking this initiative to support other industries and sectors as well,” Fernando said. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Joint Apparel Association Forum, the industry lobby of the Apparel sector. JAAF Secretary General Tuli Cooray pointed out that the objective of the initiative is to motivate and reward the workers for their dedication and commitment to this industry over the years. “Their collective role has placed Sri Lankan manufactured garments among the top names in the international market. The industry is on a continuous improvement mode and we want to achieve ever higher status in the international garment trade in the coming years. With this we want to keep improving the lifestyles of employees across the sector,” he said. Under this Privilege program each card holder would be entitled for a Privilege Card that will carry benefits such as discounts and offers from more than 40 merchants across the country. The privileges thus enjoyed by the card holder can also be extended to cover their family needs as well. CH17 is the program designer and implementing agency for Ransalu Pranaama Card.
