Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) has ventured into the hybrid car market, offering innovative leasing solutions with competitive interest rates to its customer base. “By driving vehicles which help keep the environment pollution-free, hybrid car owners are doing the country a service. It is with this in mind that we are providing them with a special plan, centred around the theme “Lesser burden on your pocket, greener for the planet,” said Sasindra Munasinghe, Director and Chief Credit Officer, CDB. In addition, CDB is carrying out an island-wide tree planting campaign, going from house to house to educate the public on the need to plant trees and protect the environment. CDB is currently offering a flexible repayment plan at a special interest rate, which extends to all the major hybrid vehicles in the market, including Toyota Aqua, the Prius, Axio Hybrid and Honda Fit. CDB customers can now also pay monthly installments via their Dialog and Etisalat mobile phones, thanks to a recent deal inked with eZCash, which additionally allows them to make payments from over 14,000 eZ cash merchants spread across the island. “We aim to provide our customers with swift, convenient service, and this is why we tied up with eZ cash. In fact, we consider our customer service to be a key differentiator in the market,” said Munasinghe. Apart from hybrid vehicles, CDB has also introduced innovative leasing solutions as part of a strategic plan to expand their portfolio. “We have introduced a tailor-made product for ladies, as well as a separate product for those aspiring to own a vehicle. This is part of CDB’s plan to explore new avenues, such as corporate and machinery leasing. For instance, we are looking to gain a foothold in the tourism, construction and medical sector. Given the growth witnessed in these areas, we see opportunities to expand and diversify our own leasing portfolio,” Munasinghe said. CDB’s flexible leasing policies can also be tailored to allow for variations in income. Customers can pay a lower rental during times of economic hardship, while a higher amount can be paid during a more profitable period. CDB’s entire branch network is interconnected and online, and leasing facilities are provided with minimal hassle. Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) is among the top five largest listed Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) in the Country. Established as a formidable leading player within the financial services industry, CDB has an extensive network of 59 branches and service centres.
