The first batch of more than 18 kilometers of PE water pipes was delivered to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board recently.
PE water pipes, which display greater flexibility and ease of installation, are used by most developed countries at present to distribute drinking water. Central Industries plans to add more PE products to its product portfolio in the coming years.

In the present context, many developed countries throughout the world make use of PE technology to manufacture water pipes to distribute drinking water. Thus we ventured into producing water pipes using PE technology in addition to producing high quality National PVC pipes,” Wickramasuriya said.
Central industries Plc is a member of the Central Finance Group. Central industries Plc was the first company to receive SLS 147 and SLS 659 standards for PVC water-pipes and PVC fittings in the country and was also the first to receive ISO 9001:2008 certifications.
Central industries Plc also produces and markets solvent cement, rain water management systems, electrical conduits, PE water tanks, stainless steel water tanks, septic tanks, garden hoses and PVC compact ball-valves. The company also produces Krypton electrical switches, sockets and accessories. Central industries Plc is the sole distributor for Hitachi power tools in Sri Lanka.
