Ceylinco Insurance has reaffirmed the strength of its corporate brand by winning its 10th consecutive Peoples Award in the insurance category at the 2016 ‘SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards’ – billed the hallmark awards event of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

Ceylinco Insurance enjoys the rare distinction of being adjudged the ‘Peoples Insurance Brand of the Year’ every year since the awards program was launched ten years ago.

The SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards recognise brands and personalities that have made a profound impression in the minds of the people of Sri Lanka and are one of the most awaited marketing events in the corporate calendar as the nominees and awardees are chosen by the voice of the people, through a comprehensive nationwide research conducted by Nielsen Sri Lanka.

Ceylinco Insurance’s award was accepted on behalf of the company by Ceylinco General Insurance Managing Director Messrs Patrick Alwis and Ceylinco Life Insurance General Manager – Business Development Joe Jayawardena, at the gala awards night at Waters Edge.

The selection of the winners in the different sectors and categories was based on a nationwide quantitative face-to-face survey covering males and females between the ages of 15 to 60, over a period of five months using a structured questionnaire. Respondents were asked to mention their favourite brands and personalities across various categories, with those receiving the highest nominations being declared the winners.

Ceylinco Insurance ended 2015 with consolidated premium income of Rs. 27 billion, with General Insurance accounting for Rs. 13.5 billion and Life Insurance generating Rs. 13.4 billion, recording an overall increase of Rs. 2.8 billion or 11.7% over the previous year.
