Unbridled fun and frolic were the bonding ingredients when hundreds of policyholders of Ceylinco Life accompanied by their families enjoyed a carefree day at the Leisure World theme park recently, courtesy of Sri Lanka’s life insurance leader.

The fourth edition of the Ceylinco Life Family Savari, this mammoth annual interactive promotion united people from all districts of Sri Lanka who had one thing in common, their choice of a life insurance partner.

Drawn from the hundreds of thousands of policyholders of Ceylinco Life and representative of the 500 families that qualified for the event, they were provided with free transport to and from the location, meals and refreshments for the day and the run of the park’s many rides and slides.

As in the case of last year’s Family Savari programme at Leisure World, four families chosen at a draw were provided with helicopter tours in addition to free rides at the park.

Addressing the policyholders at the start of the day’s programme, Ceylinco Life’s Managing Director and CEO R. Renganathan described the Family Savari programme as a value addition. “The purpose of Ceylinco Life is to provide relief to policyholders when they need it most,” he said. “We also believe in going beyond our basic responsibility and in adding value to our policyholders.”

Renganathan pointed out that another 50 families of Ceylinco Life policyholders had already visited Singapore, while another 150 policyholder families had been taken on ocean cruises on the ‘Jetliner’ in the 2011 edition of the Family Savari.

The annual Ceylinco Life Family Savari event is intended to generate greater awareness of and interest in life insurance in market segments as yet unprotected through insurance, reward existing policyholders for keeping their policies active and provide an incentive to others to revive and maintain their policies.

This year’s promotion covered policyholders whose policies were active as at 31 December 2010, new policyholders who purchased life insurance between 1 September and 31 December 2010 with a minimum of three monthly premiums, persons who opened Ceylinco Retirement Accounts (CRA) or had a minimum balance of Rs. 100,000 in the accounts as at 31 December 2010 as well as those who had or purchased investment-linked insurance of Rs. 200,000 or more during the four months of the promotion.

Ceylinco Life has more than 750,000 lives covered by active policies and has been the market leader in Sri Lanka’s long term insurance sector for the past seven years. The company is acknowledged as the benchmark for innovation in the local insurance industry for its work in product research and development, customer service and professional development.
