Ceylinco Life Insurance PLC has come onboard as the Gold sponsor of the much-awaited National Conference of Chartered Accountants 2011, scheduled to be held from 20 to 22 October at Waters Edge Battaramulla.

Organised for the 32nd consecutive year by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the conference will delve on the stimulating theme ‘Quest for Balance’.

Speaking of the sponsorship, Ceylinco Life Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer R. Renganathan said: “The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka has been an important contributor to corporate sector growth and the adoption of best practices in the accountancy profession in Sri Lanka. As one of the leading entities in the financial services sector and the country’s leading life insurer, Ceylinco life is proud to support the institute’s National Conference.”

Since its inception in 1979, the National Conference of Chartered Accountants has evolved to become a business summit that provokes thoughts and spurs insights into broad economic and business issues; apart from emphasis on finance related topics. This year’s conference too will feature an eminent panel of local and foreign speakers who will deliberate on balancing the complex and sometimes conflicting issues impacting on sustainable economic and business growth in Sri Lanka.

The three-day conference will be a platform to explore various means of achieving long term economic growth; building profitable and robust business models while balancing these objectives with humanitarian and environmental needs, in an increasingly challenging environment.

Expressing views on this sponsorship, ICASL President Sujeewa Mjdalige said that this sponsorship by Ceylinco Life was in testament to the reputation that the conference has built over years as one the most looked forward to business summits in the country. He also said that this sponsorship would strengthen the institute’s quest to take this year’s conference to a higher level, setting a new benchmark.
