Ceylon Chamber organises seminar to discuss ‘Emerging Trends in Financial Reporting’

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be conducting a seminar under the title of ‘Best Practice Suggestions for Improving the Standard and Usefulness of Your Annual Report’, in a bid to help local corporate firms further enhance the standards of their annual reports.
The seminar, which is to be held on 19 February at the Chamber auditorium, will see the participation of Reyaz Mihular and Tishan Subasinghe, two renowned financial sector specialists in the country, as ‘Resource Persons’. Ceylon Chamber CEO Mangala P.B. Yapa will also be present.
Mihular will speak on ‘Emerging Trends in Financial Reporting’, while Subasinghe will speak on ‘Towards Best Annual Reporting’.
Mihular is the Managing Partner of KPMG Sri Lanka and is a Board Member of KPMG’s Middle East and South Asia (MESA) Regional Cluster. He counts over 30 years of experience in audit and advisory areas. Mihular is also the Past President and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and has completed International Executive Education programs at INSEAD, France, Harvard Business School and the London Business School, UK.
Subasinghe, a Partner at the BDO Partners, is also a Fellow and a Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Sri Lanka. Subasinghe has had overseas working relationships with PricewaterhouseCoopers offices in New York, Philadelphia and Botswana. He obtained his MBA in Finance from the University of Colombo.
Both speakers will share important insights which will help corporate firms to come out with a sound annual report, thus helping them to effectively communicate with their stakeholders.
