Ceylon Chamber to host post-Budget seminar

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold its customary post National Budget seminar on 27 November at 8:15 a.m. with the participation of a top panel which will consist of high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Finance and taxation specialists.

The event, which will be held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce auditorium, will have as the panel the Deputy Secretary to the Treasury S. R. Attygalle (tbc), Commissioner General of the Department of Inland Revenue (IRD) Kalyani Dahanayake and Deputy Commissioner General of IRD Dhammika Dahanayake, Head of Tax Services & Partner of Ernst & Young, Sri Lanka, Duminda Hulangamuwa, Senior Partner, Gajma & Company, N.R. Gajendran and Charmaine Thilakeratne, Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The session will be chaired by Duminda Hulangamuwa, who is also the Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, whilst Charmaine Thilakeratne of PWC will deliver a presentation titled ‘Taxation Proposals of Budget 2016’. Following Thilakeratne’s presentation, a panel discussion would be held with the above mentioned officials and tax specialists.
