Charith Amarasekara promoted as CEO at Nation Lanka Finance

Top professional Charith S. Amarasekara has been appointed as the CEO of Nation Lanka Finance Plc.

Previously he was heading the Corporate Finance Division. He joined Nation Lanka Finance Group after returning from UK in August 2011. He originally headed the regional equity research team at the company.



During his tenure in the UK, Charith was employed as a Decision Support Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland’s Head office in Gogarburn, Edinburg where he managed over Sterling Pounds 9 billion portfolio of retail banking products.

Prior to that he was employed by the Asian Development Bank as a financial consultant and served a five-year spell at the PricewaterhouseCoopers attached to a valuation and strategy team based in Colombo. He also completed a an eight-month stint as a financial consultant for a World Bank funded assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan during 2009/10.

Nation Lanka Finance’s major shareholders are Investor Access Equities (35%), J. Rudra (7.6%), Nawaloka Construction Ltd. (7%) and National Wealth Corporation (3%).

The Board of Directors comprises Jayantha Dharmadasa (Chairman), Asanga Seneviratne, J. Rudra, U.H. Dharmadasa, P.M.L.K. Karunaratne, K.M.S. Kandegedara and V.R. Ramanan.
