Nation Lanka Finance Plc said yesterday that Charith S. Amarasekara has resigned as the company CEO with effect from 6 May.
He took up the post in March 2013 after joining the company in August 2011 to head the regional equity research team and later on head the Corporate Finance Division.
Amarasekara is a qualified chartered accountant (ACCA) and a Graduate from the University of Sheffield, UK (Accounting and Financial Management). During his tenure in UK, he was employed as a Decision Support Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland’s head office in Gogarburn, Edinburgh where he managed a portfolio of retail banking products worth over £ 9 billion. Prior to that, he was employed by the Asian Development Bank as a Financial Consultant and served a five-year spell at PricewaterhouseCoopers attached to Valuation and Strategy team based in Colombo.
He also completed an eight-month stint as a Financial Consultant for a World Bank-funded assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan during 2009-10 and in 2005 he completed a brief spell with Deutsche Bank Investments based in Wall Street, New York.
