CMA ‘Budget Highlights 2014 – Tax Proposal & Impact on Business’ seminar

The Taxation Committee of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) will be conducting its budget seminar on ‘Budget Highlights 2014 – Tax Proposal & Impact on Business’ this year on 25 November 2013 at the SLIDA Auditorium. The focus of the seminar will be to highlight the important aspects of the Budget 2014 covering the areas of corporate and personal taxation, VAT and miscellaneous taxes and the impact of new taxes on business and the economy. The key note address on ‘Budget 2014 Policy Directions’ will be delivered by Deputy Secretary to Treasury Dr. B.M.S. Batagoda; welcome address by CMA President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala; ‘Taxation Proposals’ by Inland Revenue Senior Deputy Commissioner General H.B.A. Seneviratne; ‘Impact of Budget on Business’ by Brandix Lanka Ltd. CFO Hasitha Premaratne; and ‘Tax Implications’ by Gajma & Co. Senior Partner N.R. Gajendran.  The panellists are CMA Taxation Committee Chairman and SJMS Associates Partner Basheer Ismail; Aitken Spence Plc Director Dr. Rohan Fernando; Ernst & Young Partner Duminda Hulangamuwa and KPMG Director Suresh Perera. There will be a panel discussion with the speakers and panellists thus enabling the participants to obtain clarifications and address questions.
