Colombo Stock Exchange annual report wins silver global awards

The Colombo Stock Exchange 2012 annual report has won a silver award for interior design in the Financial Services: Brokerage and Commodity category at the 27th Annual International ARC Awards - the world’s largest annual report competition held in New York. The ARC Awards is one of the largest Annual Report Awards Schemes in the world and perhaps the most prestigious. The winners were deemed the best of category. This year, the ARCs received a record-breaking 2,260 entries from 34 countries. The ARC Awards, established by MerComm, Inc. in 1987, were created to honour overall excellence in annual reports, and to encourage noteworthy and vital writing, as well as imaginative and original design. Preliminary and final judges represent top level investor relations executives, financial executives, writers, designers, and photographers from over 90 different agencies and corporations in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Criteria used to choose winners included cover design, chairman’s letter, writing, interior design, financial presentation, and overall how well the spirit of the company is reflected in the annual report. Head of Market Development Niroshan Wijesundere stated that it was a great achievement by CSE in winning the Silver ARC Award. The CSE Annual Report 2012 was compiled by Smart Media (Pvt) Ltd.
