The Commercial Bank has opened its first 24 Hour Automated Banking Centre at its Ward Place branch to offer a range of services around the clock, every day of the year.
The ‘24 Hour Automated Banking Centre’ offers opening of savings accounts and fixed deposits, access to online banking, settlement of credit card dues, and withdrawals via an ATM, as well as cash and cheque deposits.
Powered by a 24-hour, high-speed secure internet connection, this centre helps existing and new customers save time by filling out the necessary documentation for opening of accounts at their leisure and completing the process by visiting a Commercial Bank branch for verification and to pick up passbooks or other documents and make initial deposits.
Customers can also submit loan applications through the Automated Banking Centre at a later stage, the bank said.
“Automated branches offer more services than a standard ATM and drop box for deposits, and are widely used by busy people to minimise the time spent on banking transactions,” said Jegan Durairatnam, Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank. “The Ward Place branch is already popular with customers who do their banking on Saturdays, and this new facility will add further value to the convenience offered by the branch.”
The Commercial Bank currently operates a network of 232 branches and service points in Sri Lanka and an ATM network of 585 terminals, the largest cash dispensing facility operated in the country by a single bank.
Sri Lanka’s most internationally-lauded bank, Commercial Bank is the only Sri Lankan bank to be ranked among the world’s top 1000 banks for three successive years. Adjudged ‘Best Bank in Sri Lanka’ for 15 consecutive years by ‘Global Finance’ Magazine, the Bank has also won multiple awards as the country’s best bank from ‘The Banker,’ ‘FinanceAsia,’ ‘Euromoney’ and ‘Trade Finance’ magazines.
