Commercial Bank opens in picturesque Pottuvil

Pottuvil, made world famous by its Arugam Bay resort, now has world-class banking facilities following the opening of Commercial Bank’s 230th branch in this picturesque eastern coastal town.

The Pottuvil branch was formally declared open by Commercial Bank Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody and the bank’s Managing Director/CEO Ravi Dias with senior management of the bank in attendance as well.

The new branch located along Main Street Pottuvil is computer-linked to the bank’s country-wide branch and service point network. The automated teller machine at the location is also linked to Commercial Bank’s ATM network of 562 terminals; which is the largest electronic cash dispensing facility in Sri Lanka.

Commercial Bank is the largest private bank in Sri Lanka and the only Sri Lankan bank to be listed two years consecutively in the world’s top 1000 banks. The bank has been adjudged the ‘Best Bank in Sri Lanka’ by Global Finance magazine for a record 15 successive years and has also won multiple awards as the country’s best bank from ‘The Banker,’ ‘FinanceAsia,’ ‘Euromoney’ and ‘Trade Finance’ magazines.
