Continental Insurance’s Asiri awarded ‘Most Outstanding Candidate’ at Chartered Insurance Institute

Asiri Wickramarachchi, Chartered Insurer and Manager – Technical of Continental Insurance Lanka Limited was awarded the rare accolade of being the ‘Most Outstanding Candidate’ in examinations conducted by the Chartered Insurance Institute for 2011.

He was the recipient of the   Nihal Senaratne Challenge trophy at a glittering ceremony hosted by the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute at the commencement of the International Insurance Congress 2012 held in Colombo recently.  

The selection criteria for the challenge trophy  not only includes the obtaining of the highest marks at the examination but also the work experience and the successful completion of all examinations and only considers those candidates that have the status of  an Associateship from the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

The theme for this year’s International insurance congress was ‘Professionalism is the driving force of the insurance industry,’ hence Asiri clearly exemplifies the kind of benchmark professionalism a customer could come across when building a lifelong relationship with Continental Insurance.

Addressing the media, Asiri said: “Sound technical knowledge gained through professional education helps an insurer to understand insurance technicality and mechanism which will enable correct assessment and underwriting of risks together with correct evaluation of claims. He further reiterated that it is of paramount importance to respond appropriately and rationally to the current market needs and do what is best for clients.”
