Continuous Professional Development at APB

As part of APB’s role in adding value to the banking community and its members, APB will feature Dian Gomes in its next evening lecture 

Gomes is the Chairman of Hela Clothing, a Rs. 25 billion apparel business with a portfolio of 15 factories that cater to international brands such as Levis, M&S, Calvin Klein, and Tommy dfHilfiger which are but a few, amongst others. He was the former Group Director of MAS Holdings. 

Dian is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), and Certified Practicing Accountants (Australia). He received his executive education at Harvard, Wharton, and Ashridge Business Schools. 

Dian was the President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) – Sri Lanka Division in 2001/ 2002 and presently sits on the Boards of many private and Government organisations. 

Further, he has presented numerous business papers, and has lectured widely on the subjects of leadership and motivation at numerous Sri Lankan as well as International forums, which include lectures at Imperial College Business School London, and Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK.

Being named as the Business Icon of the Year 2012 by CIMA Leadership Awards is but the tip of the iceberg of a man who possesses unrivalled qualities of leadership and business acumen. Renowned as one of Sri Lanka’s ‘Male Icons’ by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing in 2007, he was also awarded the ‘Brand Leadership Award’ under the individual category in Mumbai by the world Brand Congress in 2009. 

Gomes will address the gathering on 11 May from 6 p.m.-7:15 p.m. at the BOC Head Office Auditorium on the topic of “Leadership”.
