Crysanthi Thambiah joins Prime Grameen Micro Finance Board

Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd., the only rated and the flagship MFI that introduced the world renowned and Nobel Prize winning Grameen poverty alleviation module to Sri Lanka is now proud to announce the appointment of Crysanthi Thambiah as an Independent Nonexecutive Director with effect from 15 June 2013. Her appointment was sanctioned by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Prior to her appointment Thambiah served as Hatton National Bank PLC Deputy General Manager Network Management and held other coveted positions as Manager Pettah branch, Senior Manager Emirates branch and Assistant General Manager FCBU and AGM Commercial credit unit. Thambiah counts over 38 years of professional banking experience and her presence in the corporate management team for over 15 years has added great value and strength to the bank. She has effectively supported all functional areas and assisted in developing and formulating the strategic plans of the bank. Thanbiah is involved in several social service activities. She was the prime mover when the Rainbow Foundation was actively raising funds for the Sri Lanka Anti Narcotic Association. She also currently serves as the treasurer of National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka. Thambiah’s expertise and knowledge in the finance industry will surely help widen and assist the future endeavours of the key stakeholders of Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd. The company welcomes Thambiah and looks forward to her direction in achieving its stated vision.
