The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is organising an Issuer Relations forum titled “Listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange – A Mark of Distinction” on 11 October 2013, at Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand Colombo from 6 p.m. onwards. The forum is for the benefit of unlisted companies to give them an insight on listing their shares and corporate debt on the CSE.
CSE Chairman Krishan Balendra will be delivering the welcome note for the event and SEC Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godehewa will be the keynote speaker.
Dr. Godahewa said: “Increasing the number of listings on the CSE is one of the ten key strategies of the SEC and CSE joint committee. The event will provide unlisted companies an opportunity to explore the value propositions from listing on the CSE.”
Balendra said: “This will be the first, of many Issuer Relations events which will be organised by the CSE. Through these forums we wish to create awareness among the business community of the strategic and financial incentives of listing equity or debt on the CSE.”
CSE Assistant General Manager Regulatory Affairs Renuke Wijayawardhane will speak on listing of equity and debt on the Colombo Stock Exchange and will also be a panellist during the panel discussion on listing on the CSE together with Laugfs Gas Chairman W.K.H. Wegapitiya, Peoples Leasing and Finance Company Chief Executive Officer D.P. Kumarage and ODEL Chief Executive Officer Otara Gunewardene. The discussion will be moderated by Shamindra Kulamunage.
