CSSL creates progressive platform for bankers on security, business continuity

The Security and Business Continuity Chapter of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), aimed at banking and financial sector institutions in particular to create a common forum in the avenues of security and business continuity, has started its activities. This is important due to the intense necessity foreseen in the fiscal industry.  

The ‘InfoSec Forum for Bankers’ aims to strengthen the appeal of those who are involved in security and business continuity (S&BC) related avenues in the banking sector. CSSL being the premier professional body for ICT in Sri Lanka, intend to create a platform for the banking ICT professionals where information security and business continuity plays a critical and uncompromisable role.

Further it seeks this forum to disseminate technical knowledge and know-how on various perspectives related to S&BC. The ‘InfoSec forum for Bankers’ will be held on 10 October, 2012 at OPA Auditorium – No. 275/75, Prof. Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha, Colombo 7.

CSSL – S&BC chapter facilitates a platform to share specific ICT Security related domain knowledge, issues, threats and current happenings amongst the professionals and also to voice their views and needs to create a better business atmosphere. The ‘InfoSec Forum for Bankers’ will be combined with technical sessions followed by networking activities.

This forum will provide great opportunities for budding bankers to network with professionals from the ICT industry at large and also enable them to seek assistance from the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) for any specific needs. Since ICT is a vast area, ICT professional from the banking sector rarely get opportunity to be involved in forums where multiple experts meet together to share knowledge. The industry involves diverse modes hence it is essential for each segment to team up for a progressive business environment.

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the leading professional body for ICT in Sri Lanka.  The principal objective of the organisation is to promote Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and to maintain highest professional standards among the ICT fraternity.  The CSSL was started in 1976.
