DFCC announces Thimal as Deputy CEO from August

DFCC Bank this week announced the appointment of Thimal Perera as the Deputy CEO from 16 August 2017, on which Lakshman Silva will take over as the CEO from the incumbent Arjun Fernando.

The Daily FT was the first to report the impending appointment of Thimal on 2 May following the switch from HNB.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) - UK. He possesses extensive experience in banking at senior positions, having been with the HSBC Group, both in Sri Lanka and overseas, the Commercial Bank of Qatar, Barclays Bank Plc, UAE and Hatton National Bank. 

He also served as a board member of HNB Assurance Plc and HNB General Insurance Ltd.
