Sri Lanka’s online shoppers can now benefit from a new level of virtual financial convenience, via Digital Commerce Lanka (DCL)’s online easy payment scheme. The e-commerce giant recently launched the island’s premier instalment-based service in conjunction with Melsta Regal Finance Ltd, a licensed finance company by the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Melsta Regal Finance is a fully owned subsidiary of Melstacorp Limited, a 100%-owned subsidiary of the AAA-rated Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka, one of the 10 largest listed companies of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
Commenting on the launch of the new online payment scheme with DCL, Melsta Regal Finance CEO Nishaman Karunapala said: “The easy instalment plan aims to make the life of the online shopper more convenient. This hassle-free service is designed in keeping with Melsta’s philosophy of being the gateway to help people realise their aspirations and achieve happiness through financial convenience.”
With the launch of the new online easy payment scheme, customers can purchase products online at a convenient monthly instalment rate. Over 1,000 products and 100 brands priced between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 300,000 are now attainable to customers who may have been unable to purchase the desired product in one payment.
DCL has always focused on the customer, particularly in making the online experience more pleasant and convenient. Commenting on this, DCL CEO Reeza Zarook said: “The easy payment scheme was introduced in a quest for more effective ways to bring convenience and to satisfy our customers’ online shopping experience by easing the pressure on expenses. Essentially, we are now offering customers the dual benefit of online shopping and affordability via a monthly rental scheme.”
The entire registration process takes seven days. Initially, customers must register online. Three hours later, they will receive feedback from Melsta Regal Finance informing them of the application approval. A week later, customers can begin purchasing online. DCL is a joint venture between anything.lk and Dialog Axiata, encompassing businesses of anything.lk, wow.lk, iBuy.lk, B2B and C2c trading portal Tradenel.lkk and myTrader.lk.
